Suddenly, a strong gust of wind came and pulled the string right out of Sam’s hand. The red balloon drifted higher and higher into the sky. Sam watched, his eyes wide, as the balloon floated away, carried by the wind.
“Oh no!” Sam cried. He ran after it as fast as he could, but the balloon was too far out of reach. It floated over trees, houses, and down the street. Sam stopped running, his shoulders sagging with sadness.
Just then, a kind little bird swooped down beside Sam. “I saw your balloon flying away,” the bird chirped. “Hop on my back, and I’ll help you chase it!”
Sam climbed onto the bird’s back, and they soared into the sky. They flew high over the rooftops, following the balloon as it floated gently along. Soon, they spotted it caught in the branches of a tall tree.
The bird flew carefully up to the tree and helped Sam untangle the string. With a gentle tug, the balloon was free! Sam held it tight this time, smiling as he thanked the bird for its help.
The bird chirped happily. “Always hold on tight, and remember, friends are always here to help!”
Sam waved goodbye to the bird and skipped home with his balloon, feeling happy and grateful for the adventure.
